Abstract
  • Intentional efforts must be made by the pastor to prepare and deliver relevant and helpful sermon applications to a diverse preaching audience. The project utilized a Preaching Advisory Team (PAT) recruited from the church membership to work with the pastor in strengthening his efforts in this area. Over a ten week period the PAT both critiqued sermon applications from messages preached by the pastor and also worked collaboratively with him in the creation of sermon applications for upcoming messages. The PAT and an expert observer furnished evaluation of the pastor's skill development over the course of the project.
