This project begins with a description of the current state of the western church. Seeing a great need for the church to reclaim its partnership with the missio Dei, the project then outlines the basic premises of the missional church movement. In conjunction, the Gospel according to Luke is explored as a resource to begin the transformation of a local congregation into a missional church. The project provides an effective model for exploring missional themes in Luke through a twelve-week emphasis on mission which includes sermons, Sunday School classes, devotional journals, and specific mission experiences.
