  • The author's thesis was that trained church leaders minister more effectively. This hypothesis was investigated using a group of eleven lay leaders who are responsible for the management of church committees and organizations. The project group identified their spiritual gifts and their normal leadership styles. The author conducted objective and subjective tests of the group's leadership performance level before and after the project. He used the descriptive survey method to analyze and evaluate the group's performance. The project group's leadership performance of eight normal leadership tasks increased 12 percent due to the training. Objective application of new leadership skills also increased the participants' efficiency. The author concluded that training volunteer church workers will effect positive change in their leadership skills.
