- This project proposes a scientific theism consonant with Christian metaphysics through a historical, theological, and scientific examination of the 'new physics'--an evolving and holistic view of creation that embraces something like a pattern-forming principle, something like 'mind' that holds our universe together in exquisite balance. From a comparison of the phenomenology of Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau-Ponty and the pragmatism of Charles Sanders Peirce with the medieval Cloud of Unknowing, the project turns to the work of Bernhard J F Lonergan and John C Polkinghorne.
