  • The future leaders of Hispanic American Catholics will be lay people. Priests and religious have a tradition of providing formation programs as a preparation for ministry. Nowadays, the development of Hispanic American lay leadership formation centers is crucial to the entire church in the United States. The primary methods employed in this project are historical, sociological, and theological. This use of multiple methods is intended to impress the reader with the urgency of this problem and the growing need for lay leadership. Lay participation in ministry requires the encouragement and support of clergy and religious. Collaborative ministry should become the norm.
