- This project reviews the historical background of the United Church of Christ in Japan in its mission and ministry to and with minority groups in order to formulate a possible agenda for future ministry. Using biblical insights, the project examines the sociocultural context in Japan, focusing on the influence of the current emperor system and ethnocentrism stemming from that system. Based on a survey among two local churches, the proposed agenda aims at formation of a more inclusive faith community enabled to bring forth peace and justice in a Japanese context.
