  • This project proposes that managed communal care of children, as a Christian approach to neighborhood social services, can bring together educational, behavioral, medical, and mental health professionals to deliver proactive, preventive, and developmental services. Churches and secular agencies can shift from fragmented, individualistic care to a communal configuration of services without violating separation of church and state. Children served in a communal network of managed care are more likely to receive proper services in healthy environments and are less likely to be placed out of their homes and communities.
