Abstrakt

This project presents a Lenten midweek worship series based on the Gospel of John for use in Holy Cross Lutheran Church (Davenport, Ia). After investigating the Lutheran theology of worship, the concept of worship in Lutheran confessions, the purpose and practice of Lent, and the relevance of the Gospel of John to Lent, the project prepares nine sermon studies for six Wednesdays of Lent, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.
