  • Part I explores the meaning, purpose, and origin of the six gospel texts which propose life is found by losing it. Part II, a study guide for groups, relates the biblical material to Central American refugee concerns. Part III is an account of how one congregation 'found life by losing it' through participation in a Central American refugee ministry. Included is a section of quotes from 12 refugees who were provided sanctuary. Life was found as persons were willing to risk losing securities for justice and the well-being of the larger world community of which they were a part.
