The author interviewed and surveyed lay and ordered leaders of rural and small town churches to study their attitudes about the nature, role and character of their church. He concluded that congregational regeneration requires a shift in attitude that intentionally gives primacy to the apostolic root of Christendom, rather than its evolved traditions and expressions.
