Abstrakt

The author believes that an appropriate pastoral response of the church to the crisis of Hong Kong in the face of the sociopolitical changes of 1997 is: to be aware of the nature and source of the people's anxiety, which has normal and neurotic elements and which is caused by people's experience of child abuse and the prevailing social values; and, to empower the people with the Gospel to take the normal anxiety into their existence and to combat the evil forces that cause neurotic anxiety. This project was based on research into different literatures and discussions with advisor Dr LeRoy Aden.
