Abstrakt

This project in pastoral care is concerned with older children in grades four through six and their parents who have recently experienced a loss in their family. In the five sessions that focus on the children, the candidate uses puppets, storytelling and art expression to teach about grief and about coping with loss. The four parents' sessions focus on the grief process, the parents' particular grief and how children grieve. The final three sessions center on the whole family at the beginning of their shared grief experience.
