Abstrakt

This project proposes that couples in dying marriages can find hope to restore love and rediscover intimacy when they examine their actions, attitudes and speech in a marital intervention format and then learn positive skills in building a growing marriage. Participants were led in weekend marriage crisis-intervention seminars designed to help them better understand themselves and their spouses. They learned about personality, conflict, communication, forgiveness, and change. Marital testimonies, biblical truths, guided couple interactions, and individual assessments, presented in a three-day weekend format successfully changed marital attitudes, offering hope that intimacy could be restored.
