Abstrakt

This project report describes the deanery board of a council of Catholic women of a Midwestern diocese as it moved from a condition of discouragement and disorganization to a condition of self-affirmation and accomplishment. The application of Dr Jerry Egan's model, 'What an Effectively Designed System Looks Like,' and the Lateral Ministry model of John Shea led the board toward both a new theoretical understanding and a new form of activity based on that understanding. The author's theoretical reflections are titled 'Kingdom and community' and 'Toward a clarification of ministry'.
