Abstrakt

This is a manual for the initiation and development of urban-based church planting movements. It focuses on the Asian context and contains the results of the socio-economic, religious and occupational analyses of a typical urban slum in Sri Lanka. Strategies deployed for the planting of churches are explained with particular reference to the Buddhist environment. It details a method of developing a multi-cultural urban base for church planting and examines the process of leadership development. The integral link between creative theologizing and new church planting is discussed and case histories of power evangelism are provided.
