Abstrakt

This paper presents and evaluates an alternative in parish staffing called collaborative ministry. The discussion focuses on the development of the concept and its later implementation in a Roman Catholic parish. It demonstrates the unique character of collaborative ministry. The process of building collaborative ministry in an archaic parish in a conservative, rural, working-class suburb is outlined. Theological foundations, ecclesiastical and canonical concerns are carefully addressed. Included is a copy of the primary research tool, a questionnaire completed by approximately five hundred parishioners. narrative summaries discuss these findings and the appendices offer data on which the evaluation was based.
