  • This study was designed to develop a methodology for interfaith cooperation on social ethical issues such as hunger and population control in developing nations. Section one provides a theology of missions that opens the Christian to encounter with persons of other faiths without compromising the role of Christ as savior. Section two presents a detailed outline of the social ethic of Advaita Vedanta, in terms of historical development, theology and scripture. Section three presents the actual project, an encounter between a group of Indian Christians and Indian Hindus, all of whom are engaged in health or population issues professionally. The final section provides a comprehensive bibliography relative to social ethics and interfaith encounter.
