- Men can increase their participation as leaders in their churches' educational program if: 1) limiting factors are understood (cultural stereotypes, self-image, reluctance by the church to meet men's needs, and confusion of religion/belief/faith); 2) enabling focii are introduced (wholeness, faith nurturing, interaction, and discipleship); and 3) a variety of settings are utilized (adult education, men's fellowships, and leadership roles in a variety of educational programs). Corroboration was obtained through a survey of men's participation in local church educational work, by reading contemporary literature on psycho-social-religious influences, and from critical evaluations by pastors and professional church educators.
