Abstrakt

The purpose of this project is to develop a training manual to help local church leaders recruit, equip, and pastor a team of lay ministers to serve in a local juvenile corrections facility. To accomplish this, I researched demographic data and literature on juvenile offenders in the United States to generate a demographic profile of this population. Next, I explored literature in the field of juvenile offender ministry to determine best practices. Lastly, I investigated principles and best practices in the field of instructional design. I then leveraged the knowledge gained from examining each of these fields of research to develop a church training manual for ministry to juvenile offenders.
