Abstrakt

This project was an attempt to make contact with every known inactive member of the church and evaluate the potential of reclaiming them. The method of research was to train a group of volunteers in skills for confronting inactive members and evaluate the effectiveness of the training with a pre-test and post-test. The contacts were evaluated by sending a survey to those contacted. The project resulted in 24 percent of the members returning to church at least once. The author concluded that a better solution to the problem of inactivity was to be more effective in assimilating new church members.
