  • This project proposes and implements a multidimensional program to affirm and heal African American Methodist women who have experienced domestic violence in La Plata and Indian Head, Maryland. In affirming the right of African American women to live free of domestic violence, the project develops a paradigm for disseminating information to church communities while assisting churches in being more responsive to needs of victims. The journey toward healing begins when the self-esteem and dignity of victims are affirmed.
