  • This project is designed to help the reader develop an understanding of pastoral ministry to people in crisis. The project is presented in five parts: 1) an historical-theoretical construct; 2) the identification of disorganization; 3) an outline of techniques; 4) the presentation of the church as a healing agent in crisis; and 5) a case study. Material is drawn from the case study, readings in crisis, reflections on the acute settings and clinical work in various crisis situations. The project concludes that although present crisis history, theory and methodology are sparse and incomplete, the contributions to date are valuable tools for ministry in crisis.
