Abstrakt

The nearly fifty years of mission history of Salem Lutheran Church, Whittier, California, needs to be written and evaluated. The story is rapidly becoming forgotten. The parish is a paradigm of post-World War II congregations. This project reveals issues and historical moments that tell the story of this part of Christ's church. When one knows the history of a parish, it gives the members a sense of direction and mission for continuity. The project is documented and developed by means of available archival documents, personal interviews, and reflections of the present pastor who is the author.
