  • Churches need trained teachers. The aim of this study is to show churches can use a mentoring model to help experienced teachers transfer practical knowledge to trainees and multiply available, trained teachers. A secondary aim is to show that the mentoring model matches biblical principles. This study, through an integrative review and critical analysis of literature, explores the biblical, theological foundations of teacher training, surveys the development of teacher training in the church, and based on the Bible and history presents a model for teacher apprenticeship. The findings show this method multiplies available, trained teachers and agrees with biblical principles.
