Abstrakt

The project's purpose was todesign and implement a resource for pre-baptismal education for parents of children to be baptized in the local church to deepen the faith and personal commitment of participants in the event. This resource utilized the educational theories of Thomas Groome and John Westerhoff. The dissertation describes the situational context and problem, theology of sacraments and baptism, educational theory, basic theological and educational assumptions and methods, educational program, culminating worship service, and evaluation. The outcome of the program was a resounding success. The theories and design were validated. An adequate resource for pre-baptismal education was provided.
