Abstrakt

This project explores learning paradigms inclusive of the spiritual in the projects of education and work. The study promotes a pedagogy that weds the rational, affective, practical ad spiritual. It looks to exemplary teachers, the monastic witness, and the Catholic Worker movement for examples of educational healing and vitality. The methodology includes narrative, theological reflection, and the relaying of little-known histories. It consults sages in European and American educational life but also draws upon the unusual experiences of its author in seeking to make a sacred and alternative vision of schooling more accessible and less rare in actuality.
