Abstrakt

A change is taking place in evangelical preaching. The shift is from an emphasis on teaching the Bible to an emphasis on solving life's problems. Eight evangelical seminaries, the pastors of the Rocky Mountain District of the Evangelical Free Church of America, and seven high-profile preachers were studied and evaluated. The central issue for the future is to what extent preachers will adequately anchor their sermons in the text of the Scriptures and accurately reflect its authoritative message to the audience.
