Abstrakt

Explicit educational preparation for the baptism of infants and young children can enhance commitment for parents and the wider congregation. The centerpiece of the project is a manual for baptism, based on several local, denominational, and ecumenical surveys, plus detailed study of various schools of thought relative to pedobaptism. The people of St Paul's gained new insights into the nature of baptism and the role every adult member plays in helping parents and the congregational family fulfill the baptismal promises. The manual for baptism contains material that can enjoy broad ecumenical application.
