  • This project recognizes that no reorientation program for missionaries seeking to serve ethnic populations in the United States existed at the time, and therefore seeks to develop such a program. The program seeks to address three problems: (1) the emotional trauma of missionaries readjusting to life in the United States after some time in another culture; (2) the need to understand that the immigrants whom the missionary is trying to reach are also in cultural transition and thus different from the people to whom they ministered overseas; and (3) the adjustment to a different mission agency.
