Abstrakt

This thesis asserts that God-centered corporate worship influences church attendees to engage in discipleship activities. The author reviews biblical passages and other literature related to worship to support the proposition. He uses a case study of corporate worship gatherings at three churches in the Northwestern United States. Site visits, interviews and surveys suggest how God-centered corporate worship motivates people to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. The thesis identifies elements that consistently serve the biblical functions of worship. It offers several values and principles that can guide the planning of corporate worship gatherings that more effectively influence discipleship.
