  • The theological principle infusing this thesis is that the church is a community of disciples. As an agent of the church, the Catholic school shares the Church's mission of passing on the faith to youth. Maturing in faith is both a personal and a communal journey. Personal maturity in faith is nurtured and reached through community. In the educational environment this occurs when there is collaboration between leadership and board members. This study sought to assist local administrators to become transformational leaders who will initiate a program and process to strengthen boards. The result illustrated that the attitudes and skills of transformational leadership are needed to create any effective and participative group. This is facilitated when there is role clarification and when there is growth in participative decision-making.
