Abstrakt

The Pastoral Care Education Program is a project designed to provide guidance for a supervised clinical experience for undergraduate ministry students. Baptist Hospital (Pensacola, Florida) and the Florida Baptist Theological College (Graceville, Florida) cooperated to provide a seventeen-week experience combining classroom and clinical opportunities. This project evaluated forty-five students involved in the program during the period 1988-1992. The evaluations were positive, with weaknesses noted. The intent of this project was to modify the program in light of the evaluations. Project strengths include a theological model of pastoral care utilizing the shepherd metaphor and extensive appendices of pastoral care topics.
