- The purpose of this project is the establishment of a program for mentoring new members of Grawood Baptist Church in Keithville, Louisiana. The church has grown rapidly in the past four years. Many of the people added to the church have come from completely secular backgrounds or Christian traditions other than evangelical. These new members must be trained in order to retain them. The plan of ministry will be for the writer to recruit a team of eight to ten mentors. These mentors will be trained for a period of four weeks. In the implementation phase, the mentors will meet weekly with new members for discussion of the previous Sunday morning message as well as some additional Bible study. An evaluation will be performed at every stage of the process. The mentors will evaluate each training session. Both mentors and new members will evaluate each message and mentoring session. There will also be a formal evaluation phase in which both the mentors and the new members will evaluate the program as a whole.
