Abstrakt

This project attempts to investigate the causes of membership dropout among selected churches in the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Several New Testament examples were explored in an effort to determine the church's responsibility on behalf of the missing members. The descriptive method was used in the study. It was based upon 176 responses to a questionnaire and personal interviews with people who have dropped out of the church. The responses were evaluated by the Research and Statistics Department of Andrews University. Consequently, from the findings of the study a number of recommendations were made towards reducing the dropout rate.
