Abstrakt

This thesis describes how the author's experience of preaching in a multiethnic congregation required a transformation of the preacher, as well as a transformation of the preaching, to be effective in this context. Through the sermon projects, the interpretations with the Parish Project groups, and one-on-one interviews with people in the congregation, the writer discovered that preaching in a multi-ethnic context is more effective when God's hospitality is extended, the biblical story relates to their stories, and appropriate language and styles are used.
