Abstrakt

The project's thesis was that cable television working with personal contacts can be an effective ecumenical tool for evangelism. The strategy was 1) cable tv spreads the Christian message, and 2) personal contacts help make it believable. The writer read in the areas of cable technology, communications, and evangelism. Other research included interviews and workshops at a video conference. Measuring the response of the viewers to the cable program was difficult. Laypersons were not mobilized sufficiently. No known commitment to Christ resulted. The value of the project was its ecumenical participation, the improvement of communication skills of its participants, and its potential as pre-evangelism.
