  • The purpose of this practicum/project was to develop a small group dream analysis process by which the participant can examine the dream as a revelatory event. The practicum/project takes seriously the historical documentation of the relevance of dreams. The method of Jungian dream analysis was used with the small groups. This method of analysis allowed the participants to develop a process to understand their dreams and to relate the dream to their spirituality. The practicum was conducted over a six-week period of time. Forty-one participants were enrolled in three dream analysis classes. The participants were from a United Methodist Church and a retirement center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Each group met with the pastor weekly for a 1-hour dream analysis session. These 3 groups were separated into distinct age-groups: ages 20-45, 46-69, 70-90. A dream notebook was kept by each participant. This practicum/project has established the importance of understanding dreams as a revelatory event. Without exception every member of the small groups had an increase in the appreciation for their dreams and its importance as a method of revelation.
