  • This project proposes that awareness of overlapping relationships between adult members of a weekly psychotherapy group in a rural setting, when facilitated therapeutically by a pastoral counselor, produces relational fitness in group members and ministers to community welfare. The project conducts eight clinical studies of group members, with individual followup interviews, measuring relational fitness by four variables: management of primary relationships; management of workplace relationships; involvement in community organizations; and management of critical incidents in the public community. The project recommends a clinical protocol with implications for community, leadership, counseling practice, and theology.
