Abstrakt

Utilizing action research, the author presented a series of sermons and educational experiences and administered pre- and post-questionnaires in order to test the following hypothesis: participants in a program of structured activities (designed to emphasize the importance of financial stewardship in the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ) who respond by increasing their financial giving will experience an increase in their commitment to the Lord and his church in extra-financial areas. Statistical analysis failed to confirm the hypothesis. The author suggests several circumstantial reasons for the negative result and areas for further investigation.
