Abstrakt

The author claims that preachers are called to proclaim the Gospel as good news, and not as an obligation laid upon the hearer. Graceful preaching points people under the pressure of modern life to the unmerited and unconditional love of God. The author examines the culture of obligation, in both society and church, and proposes a comprehensive approach to proclaiming grace. Through interviews and informal responses to his preaching, he shows that the people of God are given life and encouragement, and equipped to deal with the pressures of their lives through the grace of God faithfully proclaimed.
