Abstrakt

The thesis of this project was that the ministers-at-large who completed an interim pastoral assignment in American Baptist churches were able to fulfill the purposes they envisioned upon entering those ministries. Research was conducted by means of a detailed questionnaire mailed to 114 ministers-at-large; a briefer questionnaire was sent to church contact persons and denominational regional staff. Based upon the responses, it was determined that most of the interim pastors substantially fulfilled their goals, and that there was general satisfaction with their work.
