Abstrakt

The purpose of the project was to equip deacons with skills for ministering to church members who experience personal problems. The thesis was that deacons could be equipped with basic lay counseling skills. A training program was constructed and implemented. Several types of evaluation were used, but the primary method of evaluation was a pretest/posttest administered to an experimental group and a control group. The results of the evaluative tools confirmed the thesis.
