Abstrakt

Systems theory can aid in the teaching of confirmation by guiding the process, not the content, if correctly applied. The 'Parable of the Sower' model will help do this. Process: Students were exposed to biblical stories and reflected upon them in light of the fifth petition of the Lord's Prayer in connection with Jesus' post-resurrection appearance command (John 20:23). Changes in their answers to the same questions before and after the process were evaluated. Conclusion: The fourth year of the study showed a significant increase in the students understanding of forgiveness and its centrality in Christian life and reduction in the stated use of vengeance as a means to solve disputes.
