Abstrakt

This project focuses on a critical ministry of the church in the development and sustenance of hope in youth. The thesis is that Christian faith can undermine the power of hopelessness, even in the face of devastating circumstances. The project includes a theology of hope and contrasts the characteristics of hope with those of individualism in contemporary American society. The theology is actively applied in a series of six hour-and-a-half sessions with senior high youth. The format for each session was determined by a questionnaire previously submitted to participants.
