  • A renewed interest in spiritual practice combined with a traditional concern for the 'cure of souls' has led to a reexamination of how prayer and devotional practices are transmitted in the Church. This report explores the relationship between prayer and devotional practices and theories of personality type. It uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as a primary instrument in determining what particular practices are beneficial and sustainable by the faithful. It asserts that while the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is but one tool of many that can be used by clergy and spiritual directors, it proves itself beneficial on many levels to those charged with transmitting faith practices.
