Abstrakt

The purpose of this project was to equip selected team leaders of North Oxford Baptist Church, Oxford, Mississippi, in guest care ministry skills. North Oxford Baptist Church employed only a modest approach to guest impressions, intentional guest hospitality, and guest follow-up prior to the project. As such, a more robust guest care ministry that both enhanced the hospitality environment and encouraged guests to take next assimilation steps toward becoming contributing members of the church was necessary. The project director accomplished three primary goals. The first goal was to research the fields of assimilation and hospitality to identify best practices and essential competencies of guest care ministries. Among these researching findings, the project highlighted skills in the areas of parking lot impressions, welcome center and worship center practices, and follow up strategies. The second goal was to design a curriculum that equipped selected team leaders in these identified best practices and essential competencies of guest care ministry. The final goal was to then equip those selected team leaders with the best practices and essential competencies of guest care ministry. The quipping curriculum was delivered in a workshop setting over the course of three sessions.
