Abstrakt

The practicum ascertains whether goal clarification and objective achievement measures determine the continual health, growth and vitality of organizations, and constructs a goal/objective-oriented model for parish management. The author researched the management structures of the Martin Luther King Jr Center's comprehensive social service delivery system in Dallas. The use of the participant-observer research method revealed that administration by objectives should be the basic orientation of organizational management, particularly that of the parish. Thus it is unnecessary to import all the canons of classical management into the institutional framework of the parish.
