Abstrakt

The Church can and should help its older parishioners with the decisions of estate planning, including the possibility of giving to organizations that help the extreme poor. A four-week program introduced a group of seniors to Biblical perspectives on wealth and poverty, to criteria for vetting charitable organizations, and to the process of writing a moral biography, in preparation for developing or revising their estate plans. The program was helpful, persuaded most to revise their plans, and strengthened their relationships with God and each other.
