Abstrakt

This study involved sixteen widows from five churches in Dayton, OH. The objective of this project was to determine if compassionate spiritual, emotional, and practical assistance to widows during the critical bereavement period would be helpful. The methodology selected for the model included a questionnaire, interviews, observations, and feedback. A pro-active / qualitative research design was used for this project. The responses received from the study revealed that 81.3 percent of widows and 100 percent of the married women felt the ministry is strongly needed.
