Abstrakt

The thesis of this project is that a parent training program will assist parents in leading their children to Christ-like maturity. The author designed and implemented an eight-week parent training curriculum (Growing up Godly: a developmental approach to parenting) for a group at First Church of Christ, Barberton, Ohio. Participants developed and committed to a personal parenting plan. Participants completed surveys before instruction began, immediately following the training period, and two and one half months later. Based on this data, the author concluded that parents perceived themselves as better equipped for the parental role as a result of the training program.
